DGND Vishnu Bahadur Karkee
District Governor - ( 2026-2027 )
Rtn. Vishnu Bahadur Karkee has been recently elected as the District Governor Nominee Designate for Rotary Year 2026/27 of RID 3292 Nepal & Bhutan. Having an engineering background and an MBA in marketing, he also has linguistic pursuits with two years of French and Russian language courses.
With nearly two decades of experience, Rtn. Karkee has been actively working in the hospitality industry. Serving as the Chairman of Beijing Garden Chinese Restaurant for almost 20 years, Chairman of Beijing Garden & Italcaffe for 13 years, Chairman of Arko shop - the boutique for two decades, and a Promoter
of Synergy Power Development Ltd (SPDL), he has also made significant strides as a property investor. His extensive professional journey includes valuable experiences in
the Travel & Tour business and the Readymade Garment Industries.
Beyond his corporate roles, Rtn. Karkee is deeply entrenched in various sports and associations.
He has been the President of Nepal Shotokan Karate Association for the past 17 years, an Advisor to Nepal Karate Federation (NKF), an Advisor to Nepal Shito-Ryu Shobukan Karate Association, and the President of Ice Skating & Skiing Association Nepal (ISSAN) since 2004. Additionally, he is a Senior Player & Founder Treasurer of Nepal Shito Ryu Karate Association since 1982. He is also serving as President of The Youth Foundation, Nepal.
Contributing to the government sector, Rtn. Karkee has served as an Executive Observer of Nepal Tourism Council for five years, an Executive Member of Sports & Tourism Development Committee at the National Sports Council, and held executive roles in various committees under the Ministry of Energy and Ministry of Finance, Nepal Government.
In the Rotary sphere, Rtn. Karkee is a Major Donor and has been actively engaged for the past two decades. He played pivotal roles, including Charter Member of Rotary Club of Nagarjun in 2004, Charter President of Rotary Club of Baneshwor in 2008, District Rotaract Committee Chair (DRCC) in 2010-12, Assistant Governor in 2012-14, and many more. Currently, he serves as an Advisor to the District RI Programs Committee in 2023-24.
He is married to Niru KC Karkee, Managing Director of "Arko Shop-the Boutique" for the last 20 years, located in Battisputali, Kathmandu. She is also a Rotarian and a Major Donor. Their daughter, Vipasana, works for the International Labour Organization (ILO) in Geneva, Switzerland, while his son, Nirvana, is completing his MBA and works for Security Pal, an American- based IT company. Both of their children Vipasana and Nirvana are Rotaractors.
