Project Description
Rotary Club of Itahari organized a wheelchair support program for differently abled people of Barahakshetra Municipality on April 06, 2026, with the coordination of the Social Development Department of the Municipality. On the occasion, six differently abled individuals were provided with wheelchairs to support their mobility and improve their daily lives.
The Chief Guest of the program was Mrs. Nanda Kumari Sunuwar, Deputy Mayor of Barahakshetra Municipality, who handed over the wheelchairs to the beneficiaries and appreciated the humanitarian initiative of Rotary Club of Itahari. She highlighted the importance of collaborative efforts between local government and social organizations in supporting people with disabilities and ensuring their dignity and inclusion in society.
Rtn. DC Chaudhary, the President of Rotary Club of Itahari shared that the program was conducted under Rotary’s spirit of “Service Above Self” with the aim of helping physically challenged individuals become more independent and confident in their daily activities. He also expressed his commitment to continuing such community-centered service projects in the future.
The beneficiaries and their family members expressed sincere gratitude to Rotary Club of Itahari and Barahakshetra Municipality for the timely and meaningful support, stating that the wheelchairs would significantly improve their mobility and quality of life.
The wheelchair distribution program reflects Rotary Club of Itahari’s continued dedication to humanitarian service and social welfare, especially for the upliftment of vulnerable and differently abled members of the community.
