Project Description

Priority of the RI District 3292 for 2025-26: 50,000 plantations on the same day involving all the clubs – 26 July 2025 (10 Shrawan 2082)
1.Background & Objective
As part of Rotary's commitment to Environmental Protection under the Supporting the Environment area of focus, the Rotary Club of Patan Durbar Square organized tree plantation campaign encouraging Rotarians to plant trees in their own residential, institutional, or business premises and community.
This initiative aligns with Rotary International's vision of making a sustainable environmental impact, starting at home and spreading awareness in the community.
2.Project Goals
To promote green and eco-friendly living among Rotarians.
To contribute towards increasing local green cover and reducing carbon footprint.
To encourage members and their families to develop a lifelong connection with nature. To set a visible example of responsible environmental stewardship.
3.Methodology
Each Rotarian plant at least 1 to 5 trees in their own premises.
Members are encouraged to choose native or fruit-bearing trees for better ecological impact. A photo documentation (before/after) is maintained for all plantations.
Follow-up care of the plant is ensured by the respective Rotarian.

4.Expected Impact
Number of trees 120 planted by 15 Rotarians, 4 Spouse, 5 Rotaractors and volunteers 5. Enhanced awareness among families and neighbors.
Visual greening of private spaces contributing to community well-being. Stronger engagement of Rotarians in environmental actions.

5.Public Image & Awareness:
Photos and stories are shared on social media and Rotary newsletters.

6.Sustainability & Follow-Up
Members commit to nurturing the tree for at least 1–2 years with jointy with Konjyomson Pratima’s Local
Community
Annual update and check-ins during the monsoon season.
Potential to expand to schools, temples, and public spaces next year.
Tree Planation was truly heartwarming to see the Rotary’s spirit in action-families coming together, planting trees and building a greener future. From the cheerful bus ride to the refreshing short hike, energy and enthusiasm truly reflected the spirit of Rotary fellowship among Rotarians, Spouse, Rotaractors and Guests.
