Project Description
A one-day health camp was successfully organized on 19th March 2026 at Thimi Day Care Center by the Self-Help Group for Cerebral Palsy in collaboration with the Rotary Club of Patan Durbar Square, with support from DG Rtn. Binod Koirala. The camp was led by Rtn. Dr. Pragya Karmacharya Rajbhandari, Club President 2025–26, and served 17 children with Cerebral Palsy and other neurological disorders from Medium and low-income families. Services provided included pediatric neurology consultation, electroencephalogram (EEG), physiotherapy, occupational therapy, and parental counseling and Awareness in Cerebral Palsy.
Conditions such as seizure disorders, stiffness, dystonia, pain due to restricted movement, behavioral issues, Cognitive problem, Intellectual Disabilities, hyperactivity, and autism were identified and managed by Rtn. Dr.Pragya Karmacharya Rajbhandari. EEG was conducted for 5 children with suspected seizure disorders. All beneficiaries received comprehensive assessment and physiotherapy and occupational therapy services provided by PT Sarna Maharjan.
The initiative facilitated early diagnosis, improved functional abilities, reduced pain and stiffness, and empowered parents with essential home-care knowledge. Overall, the camp significantly enhanced access to quality care and promoted maternal and child health among underserved communities.
