Project Description

Green Jamunapur
11 September 2026
The Rotary Club of Kathmandu North, in its steadfast commitment to environmental sustainability, successfully organized a mega Tree Plantation Event at Jamunapur Help Society, Chitwan Ratnanagar -12.
Under the impactful theme of "One Family, One Tree" (एक परिवार, एक बिरुवा), the club distributed and planted 200 Amba (Guava) saplings directly benefiting 200 local families. By provisioning exactly one fruit-bearing tree per household, the project ensures long-term community ownership, local food security, and direct environmental stewardship at the grassroots level.

Aligning with Rotary's 7 Areas of Focus
This initiative directly addresses Rotary’s 7th Area of Focus: Supporting the Environment. By introducing 200 fruit-bearing trees into the Jamunapur ecosystem, the project actively contributes to:
• Carbon Sequestration: Reducing the local carbon footprint and combating climate change.
• Soil & Biodiversity Protection: Enhancing local flora, attracting beneficial fauna, and preventing soil erosion.
• Sustainable Living: Empowering 200 families with a future source of nutrition and minor economic value, demonstrating how environmental care intersects with community well-being.

Through this green footprint, the Rotary Club of Kathmandu North continues to cultivate a healthier planet, one family and one sapling at a time.
