1. Introduction
On the occasion of Nepal’s National Children’s Day, a Children’s Day Celebration Program was jointly organized by the Rotary Club of Lumbini Siddharthanagar, Rotaract Club of Lumbini Siddharthanagar, and Interact Club of Lumbini Gautam Buddha on 14 September 2026 at the Lumbini Disabled, Visually Impaired and Orphanage Home, Tilottama-7, Rupandehi.
2. Objective
The main objective of the program was to celebrate National Children’s Day with children living at the home and to provide them with essential educational and personal-use materials. The program also aimed to promote compassion, inclusion, and community service among Rotarians, Rotaractors, and Interactors.
3. Major Activities
As part of the program, the organizers distributed:
15 pairs of shoes and socks to the children.
Stationery materials for their educational needs.
The distribution was conducted in a friendly and supportive environment, allowing the participating Rotary family members to interact with and encourage the children.
4. Program Details
The program was chaired by Rtn. Bishnu Kumari Thapa, President of Rotary Club of Lumbini Siddharthanagar. The Chief Guest was Charter President Rtn. Dr. Govind Ballabh Bhatta.
A total of 55 participants attended the program, comprising:
12 Rotarians
6 Rotaractors
20 Interactors
17 children, guardians, and staff members of the home
5. Outcome
The program provided much-needed shoes, socks, and stationery materials to the children and contributed to making their National Children’s Day meaningful and memorable. It also strengthened collaboration among the Rotary, Rotaract, and Interact clubs and encouraged young people to participate actively in community service.
6. Conclusion
The National Children’s Day Celebration Program was successfully completed with active participation from the Rotary family and the Lumbini Disabled, Visually Impaired and Orphanage Home. The initiative reflected Rotary’s commitment to service, inclusion, and supporting children in need and created a positive impact on the participating children and the wider community.
