Project Description
The Rotary Club of Dillibazar, in collaboration with Rotary District 3292, Jhapa Municipality, and its sister club RC Birtamode, has successfully completed a major District Grant Project at Durga Higher Secondary School in rural Jhapa. The school previously had only two toilets for all students and teachers to share, creating serious challenges—particularly for female students. To address this, the project constructed new gender-friendly toilets, significantly improving hygiene, privacy, and the overall learning environment for the students.
As part of the project’s final phase, the Rotary Club of Dillibazar, Kathmandu handed over a cheque of Rs. 1,00,000 to Durga High School, Garamani, Jhapa as the last installment for the completion of the facility. The cheque was presented by Club President Rtn. Prem Oli to Mr. Yogesh Pandey, the school’s representative, during a brief handover ceremony held at the club office.
During the ceremony, President Rtn. Prem Oli highlighted the project’s objectives and the positive impact it will have on students’ health and comfort, reinforcing Rotary’s commitment to community development. Past President Dr. Timilsina also shared insights about Rotary’s broader humanitarian mission and its long-standing efforts to uplift public welfare.
The District Toilet Project stands as a meaningful collaboration between Rotary District 3292’s Basic Education Department and the Local Government of Jhapa, aimed at improving sanitation and dignity for students and the community.
