Project Description
The Rotary Club of Kathmandu successfully organized Project JHOLA on 16 February 2026 in Baglung, providing essential school supplies to students from several local schools. The initiative benefited more than 500 students, helping support their education and daily learning needs.
Students from Shree Salyan Sukhaura Secondary School, Shree Dhaulagiri Primary School, Shree Janjagriti Primary School, Shree Shivalaya Primary School, and Shree Saraswati Primary School received school materials including school bag, stationery & tracksuits during the program. The distributed supplies are expected to assist students in their studies and help create a more supportive learning environment.
The event was held in the presence of Rajendra Gautam, President of the Rotary Club of Kathmandu, and Kisan Khatri, Chairperson of Bareng Rural Municipality–4, Baglung. Their presence highlighted the importance of collaboration between community leaders and service organizations in promoting education in rural areas.
Project JHOLA holds special significance for rural communities where many children face financial and logistical challenges in accessing basic educational materials. By providing essential supplies, the project encourages regular school attendance, enhances students’ confidence, and helps create a more equitable learning environment.
Through initiatives like this, the Rotary Club of Kathmandu continues to support young learners and strengthen local communities. The project not only assists students in their current educational journey but also contributes to building brighter academic and future opportunities for children in rural Nepal. The total budget of the project is Nrs. 915,000.
