Project Description

The Rotary Club of Kathmandu successfully conducted Project JHOLA on 17 February 2026 in Chandrakot Rural Municipality, benefiting students from 11 different schools across the municipality. Through the initiative, more than 1,000 students received essential school supplies to support their education and daily learning needs.

Students from Shree Jhapak Basic School, Shree Saraswati Basic School, Shree Indrachowk Basic School, Shree Janajyoti Basic School, Shree Baalbodh Basic School, Shree Janasahayog Primary School, Shree Bhima Basic School, Shree Khadkadev Basic School and several other schools participated in the program. The distributed materials included basic educational supplies aimed at helping students continue their studies with better resources.

The event was held in the presence of Rajendra Gautam, President of the Rotary Club of Kathmandu. His presence highlighted the importance of community partnership and the role of service organizations in strengthening educational opportunities for children in rural communities.
Project JHOLA carries special importance for rural areas where many children face financial and logistical barriers to obtaining basic educational materials. By providing these essential supplies, the initiative encourages regular school attendance, boosts students’ confidence, and promotes a more inclusive and supportive learning environment.

Through such initiatives, the Rotary Club of Kathmandu continues to empower young learners, strengthen local communities, and contribute to creating brighter educational and future opportunities for children in rural Nepal.
