Project Description

Lighting the Path to a Brighter Future: Vision Screening Launched at Mahendragram School

Bhaktapur, Sudal | 19 March – The Rotary Club of Kathmandu Height has successfully launched the first phase of its Vision Screening Project at Mahendragram School, Sudal, marking a significant step toward supporting students’ health and academic success. The initiative aims to identify vision-related issues among school children at an early stage, ensuring they receive timely care and support to enhance their learning experience and overall development. The screening was conducted for students from Grade 1 to 10, with active participation from trained volunteers of the Rotaract Club of Kathmandu Height and Kathmandu Mid-Town. The session was led by Past President Rtn. Rajram Joshi, whose guidance ensured the program was well-organized and impactful.

With an ambitious target of reaching over 2,500 students, this project reflects Rotary’s strong commitment to community service and youth development. Following the success of the first phase, similar screenings will be carried out in other schools in the coming days. This initiative goes beyond basic health checkups—it is an investment in the future of young learners. By addressing vision problems early, the program empowers students to perform better in their studies and build a brighter future. Through such meaningful efforts, Rotary continues to translate its motto, “Service Above Self,” into real and lasting impact in the community.
