Dear Fellow Rotarians,

Festive greetings! The monsoon season has come to an end, and autumn has ushered in a change in the atmosphere, with more of festive vibes. As Indra Jatra commences in Kathmandu, we find ourselves fully engaged in this year’s festival season. Nepal, a country known for its rich cultural diversity, boasts over 125 distinct castes and ethnic groups, and more than 123 languages of their mother tongue. This diversity sets the stage for a celebration unlike any other on Earth.

Rotary, at its core, celebrates unity within diversity. We come from diverse backgrounds, bound by a common motto to serve our community. In observance of September as 'Basic Education and Literacy Month,' our district and clubs have undertaken various projects, all of which we believe will play a crucial role in shaping a brighter future for the generations to come.

On September 8, 2023, under the stewardship of PDG Tirtha Man Shakya, the Rotary Nepal Literacy Mission (RNLM) convened, aligning with the monthly theme. This event is poised to articulate a clear voice and actionable plan for the betterment of our children's future. Among the highlights this month are Inter-City Meetings, Vibrant Club Workshops, the Cancer Awareness Walkathon, and Adventure Rota Camp 2.0.

As you all know, Rotary has played pivotal role in eradication of Polio from the World. However, there are still a few marks to bring it to zero. October 24 marks World Polio Day, a day when we unite to underscore the critical importance of polio vaccination in safeguarding every child against this debilitating disease. It’s also an occasion to celebrate the parents, professionals, and volunteers whose collective efforts make polio eradication a reality. Let’s make it a grand participation.

And, as always, don’t miss the opportunity to share news and updates with us. We encourage clubs from all regions to participate and share their good deeds and service projects.

In closing, may your festivities be filled with joy, good health, and happiness. Let us all revel in this season of celebration by catalyzing positive change within our community, creating hope, and make the country livable. Happy Dashain!!

Yours in Rotary,
