Dear Fellow Rotarians,
What an extraordinary and magical Rotary month it has been! We came together
to celebrate the spirit of fellowship, compassion, learning, and service at the vibrant 17th District Conference in Lalitpur, Nepal. Under the outstanding leadership of District Governor Rajendra Man Sherchan and Conference Chair Madhusudan Acharya, along with their dedicated team, the event was a resounding success, leaving lasting memories for all who attended.
Much like the Maha Kumbh Mela in India, where people from across the globe gather, our District Conference saw an incredible turnout of 1,221 participants, reflecting the unity and enthusiasm of Rotary in our region. This special issue of GML is dedicated to capturing the essence of this remarkable event.
A historic moment unfolded during the conference as District 3292 embraced democracy in leadership selection for the first time. Member clubs exercised their voting rights to elect new leaders—an unprecedented step that marks a significant milestone in our district’s journey.
March also brought focus to Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) Month. In this edition,
we feature an insightful article by Rtn. Dr. Dinesh Manandhar titled “Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) in Nepal: Progress, Challenges, and Opportunities,” shedding light on critical issues and pathways for improvement.
As we prepare for the 2025-26 Rotary year, District Governor-Elect Binod Koirala and his team are already in motion, building on the momentum of recent training events like the Train the Trainer, Assistant Governor
Learning Seminar (AGLS) & President-Elect Training Seminar (PELS) and the District Training Assembly underway in Kathmandu and Pokhara. This is our opportunity to take Rotary’s mission to even greater heights.
Over the past nine months, GML has been published consistently, featuring club activity reports from 135 clubs from July to March. This achievement would not have been possible without the unwavering support
of Rotary clubs across the district. Your contributions, news updates, and feedback have been invaluable in showcasing the transformative work of our district.
Life is beautiful in Rotary—where magical movements create lasting impacts. Let’s continue this journey together, strengthening our bonds and expanding our service to communities near and far.
—Magical Movements, Lasting Impacts
